Teachabiliy

What an arrogant sounding title. The author agrees.
When I was young, I thought I knew so much. I was determine to be a walking encyclopedia. Keep on learning. Well, maybe part of that is right. A strange benefit of getting older is realizing how little I know. And the shocking addition to that, some of what I know might be wrong! (Pluto’s a planet, George Washington and the Cherry Tree, all substances shrink when frozen, etc.)
Teachability, or stay a student, or always be willing to be wrong. Hold your ideas loosely
- Leaders are readers == Leaders are learners.
- What if you don’t want to be a leader. Keep learning anyway! Lead yourself!
- An idea from Think Again, “The joy of being wrong.”
How many jobs have you started without really knowing what you’re doing? What if that’s perfectly normal?
The scientific method. It’s not about “trusting” the science, it’s about questioning and challenging it, continuously!
You have to be willing to be wrong, to change your mind!
I have a great desire to learn something new every day. Even if that means learning I was wrong about something before.
