Aspirous

When I see someone who has great relationship or communication skills, if I say I’m envious of those skills, or jealous of those skills, that has a negative connotation; like I want to take those skills from them.

But what I really mean is I aspire to be more like them. I respect, and honor, and want to emulate them.

Hence, aspirous.

I’m aspirous of their skills. All in good, positive, encouraging, ways. I’m grateful for what they have learned and I want to learn it too.

Think it will catch on?

In the process of writing this post I stumbled on emulous. Oh. Never mind.
